An ideal boot for summertime hiking the Breeze XCR's upper has large areas of breathable Airmesh and a breathable seam-taped Gore-Tex® XCR® liner to keep water out when the trails are overwhelmed with spring runoff. The Integrated Technology System brings the Vibram® Contact outsole molded thermoplastic urethane (TPU) plate and contoured phylon midsole together as one unit to provide incredible underfoot cushioning and support. The Vibram® Contact outsole grips everything from muddy lowland trails to consolidated snow at timberline. And sandwiched in between this outsole and midsole the TPU plate gives the shoe torsional strength to keep its shape when moving quickly along uneven paths or traversing an off-trail route. The Vasque Breeze XCR Hiking Shoe's fully padded collar reduces the stress of high mileage days while the padded gusseted tongue contributes to a snug comfortable fit that seals out debris.
