Mandreas goes big. Bigger than most mortals. That's why it's no surprise that when this high-flying Norwegian co-developed the Van BFB (that's Norwegian for "Best ******* Boot" or something like that) he added extra impact protection in the form of a dual air/gel unit in the heel and a gel cassette in the forefoot. Maybe you don't fly half as high as Andreas Wiig but at least you'll enjoy the same cushion on the hard landings. The BFB features the new Vans Trifit plus thermal liner with closed seam brushed fleece cuffs along the uppers. The combination of open foam interior and dual density EVA core that make up the liner do double-duty as an effective insulator and extra padding. Vans added heel-holding Achilles pad to help keep you comfortably in place throughout your ride down the mountain or halfpipe. Beneath everything you'll find the Vans V-Tread Air Snowaffle outsole with inverted waffle lug interior tread. This sole isn't as thick as the Double-Lasted Flight Core Air Snowaffle outsole but that makes it ideal for riders who want a little more flex and zonal dampening along the bottoms of their feet.
