Narrow lens styling with a medium fit profile and polarized lenses that cut through 99.9% of glare.
A lot of sunglasses go big on lenses and frames but the Smith Proof Polarized has a slightly narrower lens profile that sets it apart from most designs. While the medium fit works with a majority of faces keep in mind that you might get a little reflective light around the top and bottom of the lenses depending on your facial contours. This version of the Proof has polarized lenses that (according to Smith) will block 99.9% of all reflective glare. We didn't find that missing .1% when we tried on a pair. What we did notice was the clarity. The optically clear Smith TLT Carbonic lenses have a slight curvature that doesn't distort like some curved sunglasses. That's because the TLT stands for "Tapered Lens Technology"--a fancy way of saying that Smith contoured the thickness of these lenses to match the curvature of your eye so light filtering through the tint doesn't bend and distort the way it does through cheap sunglasses. Smith also uses Carbonic lens material because the Carbonic stuff isn't just the toughest lens component in the industry--it's the toughest sunglass lens material currently in the world. If you're headed out on the water or climbing high over sun-drenched snowfields the Polarized Proof cuts through the hazy glare giving you the best perspective possible.
