When it's time to put away the toys and learn how to race few gear mods make more sense than upgrading the performance fit of your young skier's ski boots. Salomon's Junior Falcon 60 Ski Boot gets you there with a close and responsive Performance last. In Salomon's Junior Falcon series the Falcon 60 offers more flex (70) and smaller sizes for new racers. Keep in mind that youth riders are smaller and lighter than adults so you don't need the expensive ultra-rigid components to deliver the same sort of precision response characteristics found in Salomon's adult racing boots. Salomon did keep weight considerations in mind when they developed the Falcon--you'll find that size 24 (Mondopoint) and up boots have a 25-mm. strap adjustment along the cuff for a bit more stiffness and control. That's also why this Falcon doesn't have the Spaceframe enhancements--if your skier is older aggressive and tops out near the top of the boot size chart there's a fair chance that he or she will overpower the Falcon 60 and need a ski boot with a higher flex index. But if your skier is younger and ready to race for the first time the support and responsive fit are perfect for GS slalom and short downhill courses.
