K2 Women's One Luv Skis w/ M1 11.0 TC Binding

Spans the all-mountain performance gap with better speed and sport than other advanced skis.

Redesigned with wider dimensions for improved performance in broken snow conditions the K2 One Luv ski is a versatile all-mountain design that bridges the gap between slower intermediate skis and the twitchy stuff that some aggressive newcomers shy away from. Like last season the One Luv ski isn't a transition or value ski that breaks down goes flat or becomes outgrown in a season or two. It's a well-made all-mountain ski design for athletic female skiers looking for new challenges at a great value. While the One Luv remains a little more oriented toward groomed runs than the untracked terrain this season K2 added width to the waist for better control in crud and broken snow. Previous incarnations used a lighter Marker M1 10.0 binding but this year the performance binding has a wider DIN range to suit aggressive female skiers. The One Luv still features K2's proven torsion box construction the most widely used design on all K2 skis. Inside the One Luv is a triaxially braided glass configuration around the lively spruce and fir wood core giving the ski exceptional rebound and response. While K2's torsion box design has been around for a number of seasons it remains one of the best (and critically-acclaimed) ski construction techniques because of performance and versatility. If you're wondering about the mix of fir and spruce in the core that's the key element in K2's female-specific BioFlex design. K2 created a stable and forgiving profile by using spruce at the tip and tail and fir beneath the binding area. Using spruce at the ends helps with turn initiation and enhances the lightweight characteristics that are essential in keeping a female-specific ski more responsive than a heavier unisex ski design. Another refinement is K2's Mod Technology a secondary core that's independent of the spruce and fir core. Mod Technology dampens vibrations without messing with the ski's overall flex. This improves the ski-to-snow contact while reducing the bouncing chatter--especially when coupled with the MOD Monic weight. The result is a smoother ride that carries through a range of terrain with predictable consistency. Combined with the stronger Marker M1 11.0 TC binding the One Luv delivers powerful carving potential that will please aggressive female skiers (even experts) without any of the chatter that sometimes unsettles advancing intermediates. The Marker M1 11.0 TC features a lightweight binding interface that is specifically customized for K2 skis. Marker imbedded titanium hubs in the binding core beneath your foot and opted for a lightweight composite construction. The result is a better balanced and centered fixture point on the ski with fewer moving parts that could potentially diminish powder transfer to the ski edges. What we like is how Marker made the heel and toe spacers 30% wider than other rail-mounted ski bindings to extend the binding contact points and increase the leverage along the edges (that means that you enjoy more power while turning--even if you're exerting the same effort that you would on other skis). One other thing that didn't change was K2's commitment to finding a cure for breast cancer. This season K2 will donate a portion of their proceeds from all K2 women's products to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
