Snow is still falling heavily, and we've 8-9 inches on the ground so far. Forecasts are calling for snow to continue like this throughout the day and into tonight, and we're expecting anywhere from a foot to two feet before she trucks on outta here.
This storm could be just the ticket to get New England?s most unique lift serviced terrain, the Backside Snowfields, open in time for the weekend. We?re going to accompany patrol at first light tomorrow morning and if they give the go ahead, make plans to get above the treeline and on top of the world.
March is definitely coming in like a lion this year. A really big, snarling, pissed-off, crazy lion.
Surfaces were pretty incredible even before this snow, and with over a foot of fresh powder, the skiing is going to be unbelievable. And after the storm leaves us we're looking at temps in the 30s and diminished winds for tomorrow. See why we love this month?
You'll probably be busy shredding pow all day today, but stop by our terrain parks if you get a chance. We've got some new jibs in the Yard, and a new box on top of the quarter pipe too. And if you're looking for a little something to perk up your appetite, check out some pics on the
park page and
gallery, as well as our new park video on the multimedia page.
March is our favorite month here at Sugarloaf (with good reason), and we've got a whole slew of events lined up, including Nickelodeon and Sugarloaf/USA Winter Fest, the SBR Rail Jam, and another Bud Light Concert event, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes on March 17. You can find all the details
right here.
And if you're headed up this weekend, don't forget your camera. That killer powder shot could win you first place in our
Sugarloaf Photo Contest.
Break out the powder leashes and crank up the DINs - it's gonna be a good old fashioned powder day. See you soon...
