PCTV was founded in 1987 and broadcasts throughout Summit County and all the way east to Evanston, Wyoming. In 2004 they started broadcasting 15 hours a day. PCTV combines live local broadcasts to create quality programming including news, events, entertainment, music, weather, and sports, while focusing on outdoor recreation and healthy living. As mentioned PCTV produces quality television and this is reinforced by the awards that they have won. In 2004 PCTV won 7 out of 9 Society of Professional Journalist Sports awards. PCTV is the number 1 RSN affiliate, winning a record breaking 8 out of 15 awards given out at the RSN Arc Awards. PCTV also boasts being the official station of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Teams.
